In-state OL target Amory Hills recaps official visit to Maryland

Milford Mill (MD) three-star offensive lineman Amory Hills hit the road for his second of three official visits this month after making the short trip to College Park over the weekend. With position coach Brian Braswell leading his recruitment through Hills’ junior season into the spring, Maryland has made itself a familiar spot for the 6-foot-4 lineman while the staff’s messaging throughout the weekend resonated with him.

“Coach Locksley was talking about his stories in the presentations and that was something that really stuck out,” Hills told IBG. “They definitely showed how I was definitely a priority and how good of a program it is. I think that’s their way of showing how much of a priority I am, showing me the best parts of their program if that makes sense.”

Newly-enrolled lineman Anthony Robsock filled in as Hills’ player host for the weekend, but the time spent watching Brian Braswell and Damian Wroblewski with their position group also caught Hills’ eye. “I was watching them practice. They were getting better by the minute. Even their steps were getting better on the offensive line. I feel like coach Braswell is a really intelligent coach that I’d love to play for,” he added.

“It’s very lovely down there. I feel like we definitely have a connection.” Hills made his way to Penn State the weekend prior while the Nittany Lions have been able to work with their target as they’ve kept in contact since. Next up is Virginia Tech before Hills bunkers down ahead of an undecided commitment date, but Hills left campus knowing Maryland is a viable landing spot for him.

“I feel like they definitely showed me why Maryland and everything I need to see. I’m going to Virginia Tech this week then I’m going to make a decision soon after that.”

Amory Hills is rated a three-star prospect and an 85 overall by On3, checking in as the 40th-best prospect in Maryland.
