While the college football offseason is officially in full swing with postseason play approaching, the Big Ten announced the conference schedule for the 2025 season with a handful of first-time matchups now set.
It'll mark the first matchup against Washington since the Aloha Bowl in 1982, while Maryland and UCLA will meet for the first time since 1955. The UCLA game will also mark the first-ever game played in The Rose Bowl.
Maryland will open the season against Florida Atlantic on Aug. 30. After moving on from Tom Herman, the Owls announced the hire of Zach Kittley last week as the 33-year-old head coach becomes the youngest in all FBS. He previously spent time at Texas Tech, Western Kentucky and Houston Christian before his first head coaching stint.
Maryland will also face Northern Illinois on Sept. 6 and Towson on Sept. 16 before shifting attention back to Big Ten play. Maryland is 3-0 all-time vs. Towson, while Northern Illinois has split its two meetings against Maryland with both games ending in one-possession games.
