Days after former Maryland guard Jahmir Young agreed to an Exhibit-10 deal with the Denver Nuggets, former Maryland forward Donta Scott will get his first crack at the pros after being named to the Golden State Warriors summer league team, per Sam Gorden of the San Francisco Chronicle. Scott got the nod after the team announced that Kevin Knox would be sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Scott joins a long list of forwards on the Warriors' 17-man roster, which also features former Big Ten stars like Pat Spencer (Northwestern) and Trayce Jackson-Davis (Indiana). Scott joins Jahmir Young as the latest Terp to find a way to crack into the NBA after Aaron Wiggins, Alex Len and Jalen Smith agreed to new deals this week. "Just take every opportunity that I can and get the fullest out of it. The good or the bad, take whatever it is and work from it and get better," Scott said about the draft process in an interview with the Pacers. The Philly native closed the book on his five-year Maryland career by playing the most games in program history, starting in all but 162 of his games in a Terrapin uniform. Scott was a steady piece in the Maryland rotation, averaging 10.4 points and just over five rebounds per game over his career. He is one of just five players in program history to surpass 1,500 career points and 800 career rebounds, finishing his career ranked 14th and eighth in those categories respectively. His career had many ups and downs, from having Maryland’s fantastic 2019-20 potential postseason run ripped away due to the Covid-19 pandemic, to an early-season coaching change in his junior season, to his own personal struggles throughout his final two seasons.
