Georgetown Prep (MD) five-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho has fielded a national offer list with Oregon and Georgia battling for pole position with Penn State and Alabama joining Maryland in the top group, but it’ll be the Terps who get the final crack at him with the blue-chip target confirming his official visit date.
Iheanacho, a 6-foot-7, 350-pound tackle, is set to officially visit Maryland the weekend of June 20. That’s the same weekend that Maryland will host a handful out of Saint Frances with five-star edge Zion Elee, three-star TE Damon Hall, CB Hakim Satterwhite and CB Khmari Bing all set to officially visit.
Iheanacho’s visit also confirms that Maryland will have two of the nation's top-five players in the 2026 class on campus during the same weekend.
Iheanacho recently included Maryland in his top eleven alongside Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Oregon, Penn State, Miami (FL), Florida, Tennessee and Texas A&M, but it’s been a full-court press to keep the blue-chip talent close to home. Assistant James Thomas has led the way with the five-star in a collective staff effort as Iheanacho made his way to College Park at least five times since the start of the 2024 season. He most recently visited for the basketball win vs. Wisconsin alongside Elee and Spalding duo – ‘26 DB Sean Johnson and ‘27 WR Myles McAfee.
“It's all been the same love, true genuine love. Even the players reach out to me. One of my old teammates is there and I was in the locker room after one of the games. And Andre Roye, he’s a Baltimore guy and he was telling me if I were to go to Penn State or go out of state, they’ll turn on you because you’re not from Pennsylvania, you’re not from Ohio. Going to a place like Maryland, they care about you right there so a lot of that has been shown on a bigger scale. That really opened my eyes because the home love is tremendous.”
Iheanacho is rated the second-best prospect nationally, along with the second-best offensive tackle prospect nationally behind Jackson Cantwell.
