Following Monday’s updated AP poll, Maryland is one of seven programs in the country ranked inside the top 25 for both men’s and women’s basketball.

Maryland joins Alabama, Creighton, Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State and Tennessee, but the Terps just barely made the cut.

One week after their first AP ranking in nearly two years, Maryland men’s basketball dropped seven spots to 25th after splitting last week’s games vs. Ohio State and Rutgers. Maryland also dropped one spot to 25th in the updated coaches’ poll.

Maryland joins Purdue (7), Michigan State (11), Wisconsin (16) and Michigan (20) as Big Ten teams inside Monday’s updated top 25.

Maryland, who remains inside the top 20 in Bart Torvik (15), NET (16) and KenPom (18), returns to action on Thursday at Nebraska for an 8:30 PM tip on BTN.

Maryland women’s basketball dropped one spot to 17th in the AP poll, one of five Big Ten teams ranked behind UCLA (1), USC (6), Ohio State (9) and ahead of Michigan State (22). Head coach Brenda Frese secured her 600th career win at Maryland when Maryland kicked off its two-game West Coast swing with an 18-point win vs. Oregon before taking down Washington, 81-73, on Sunday afternoon.

“Everyone knows how important family is to me, and so many different times and wins that they’ve been a part of it and that kind of support. So definitely, to be across the country and to have your mom here and take that flight and my brother is, you know, makes it even more of a special time,” Frese said.

Maryland women’s will host Nebraska on Thursday, Feb. 13 for a 6:30 PM tip.
