Maryland football will kick off the 2024 season in 44 days against UConn as head coach Mike Locksley leads the Terps into the post-Taulia Tagovailoa era. And with preseason football quickly approaching, fans now know what colors to wear to SECU Stadium for home games through the fall after the program announced its uniform combinations for the 2024 season: Uniforms: UConn: red helmet - red jersey - white pants Michigan State: white helmet - red jersey - white pants Villanova: red helmet - red jersey - white pants Northwestern: black helmet - black jersey - black pants USC: red helmet - red jersey - red pants Rutgers: black helmet - yellow jersey - black pants Iowa: red helmet - red jersey - white pants The return to the Terps Script uniforms became permanent prior to the start of the 2023 season before the program announced its Gold Script uniform for last season's home game vs. Penn State. Maryland also debuted its black Terps Script uniform in the week three win vs. Virginia. “I know our head coach Michael Locksley, someone who grew up in this area, in the DMV, worshiped the Terps in that uniform,” athletic director Damon Evans said ahead of the 2023 season. “Now it's time for us to pay that homage and push forward, so I'm happy to bring back this iconic look. Terp Nation, here we come. Here it is.” Maryland previously announced themes for three of its home games with the Villanova game serving as family weekend, the USC game is this season's homecoming while Nov. 16 vs. Rutgers will be military appreciation day. Maryland is set to open its 2024 season at SECU Stadium against UConn at noon on Aug. 31 on FS1.
