After years of speculation in hopes of wearing the fresh Maryland Terrapins gear that head coach Mike Locksley routinely sports at the podium, fans can now get their hands on it through One Maryland.
Maryland Athletics announce a partnership with Under Armour to launch exclusive merchandise to benefit One Maryland Collective, Maryland’s official NIL collective to support its student-athletes.
Tabbed the first of its kind in college athletics, Under Armour will release limited addition merchandise for new members of the One Maryland collective which features a vintage logo that is exclusive to Under Armour. The “Terrapin Throwback” initiative was inspired by head coach Mike Locksley last year
“I know there have been a lot of people to ask about these hoodies and the throwbacks and the last few months and well, it's now time,” head coach Mike Locksley said during Tuesday’s press conference. “It's time for us to release these in Maryland athletics and Under Armour, in conjunction with the One Maryland collective, are going to release these throwback hoodies. Finally. It's great. The timing of it couldn't be at a better time. The gear is exclusive to the One Maryland Collective. People that join it will have an opportunity. I know it's limited, you have limited number of these things to be released. So I strongly encourage for everybody that's been sliding in my DMs asking about the throwback hoodies, now is the time as One Maryland Collective will now launch these as you become members. And I know they have a lot of different ways of whether it's the T-shirt with the throwback on it, whether it's the sweat hoodie, but they're all be available for the fans that want to get in on this. So it's a great way for Maryland fans to own something that's unique, as well as help our program at the same time. And I know our players are excited about what the One Maryland Collective has been able to do, as we've been able, through the One Maryland Collective, from the football standpoint, to go out and really do some good things in the community on gun violence education, mental health awareness, literacy, and then drug and alcohol prevention, which our football team, those are the four pillars that they have gone out around this community. And now as a member of the One Maryland Collective, if you're fortunate enough to get on while supplies last, as they say. Jump on it early.”
Via release, fans can get a special T-shirt by joining One Maryland Collective at the $25-per-month level. The $50-per-month level earns fans a heavyweight hoodie, while a $100-per-month donation earns both the T-shirt and hoodie.

“My love of Maryland runs deep,” Locksley added via release. “And I am thrilled to bring these vintage marks back to market to benefit the One Maryland Collective. This is a great way for Maryland fans to own something truly unique and help our Maryland Football team at the same time.”
“From the beginning of the NIL era, Maryland Athletics has been a leader in driving opportunities for our student-athletes,” said Brian Ullmann, Deputy Athletics Director. “Together with our partners at Under Armour, the Terrapin Throwback initiative is yet another example of how we are building value for our fans and for our athletics program.”
“When Under Armour extended our partnership with the University of Maryland, we made a commitment to each other to do things differently than before,” said Catherine Marquette, Director of Sports Marketing and Head of Collegiate Partnerships at Under Armour. “When Maryland approached us about the opportunity for its collective to leverage Coach Locksley’s preference for vintage MD logos into a new apparel collection, we of course said yes. This is reflective of our desire to support Maryland and its athletes, current and future, and we’re proud to provide this new opportunity for fans to join in on the support as well.”
“As we continue to build innovative pathways for supporting our student-athletes, Terrapin Throwback stands as a testament to the power of collaboration between Maryland Athletics, Under Armour, and the One Maryland Collective,” said Chris Weiner, Executive Director of One Maryland Collective. “This initiative offers fans an exclusive opportunity to wear their Maryland pride while directly contributing to the success of our student-athletes.”
