After a historic senior season, Maryland wide receiver Tai Felton becomes the first player in the program since DJ Moore in 2017 to be named a first team All-Big Ten selection.
His 96 receptions in 2024 set a new single-season program record while his 2,207 career receiving yards are the fourth-most in program history behind Jermaine Lewis (2,932), Stefon Diggs (2,227) and Torrey Smith (2,215). Felton is also one of four receivers in program history to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a single season following Marcus Badgett, Torrey Smith and DJ Moore.
Felton was named a Biletnikoff semifinalist and ended his senior season with the most receptions (96) and receiving yards (1,124) in the conference, along with becoming the lone Big Ten receiver to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in 2024. He’ll suit up in the Reese’s Senior Bowl alongside safety Dante Trader Jr. in February before he and Kaden Prather look to become the first receivers drafted since Mike Locksley returned as head coach.
Dante Trader Jr. and Bryce McFerson were both named honorable mention All-Big Ten by both coaches and media, while linebacker Ruben Hyppolite and defensive back Glen Miller were both named honorable mention selections by the media.
Trader led the defense in solo tackles (37) and finished second in total tackles (59) despite missing a pair of games due to injury. Miller’s three interceptions are tied for the sixth-most in the Big Ten, while he recorded a four-game interception streak dating back to last season’s bowl win. Hyppolite led the defense with 66 total tackles after posting five or more tackles in eight different games. This marks the second postseason selection for Hyppolite after being named a third-team selection in 2023. McFerson proved to be the portal find that Maryland hoped he’d be in the offseason, finishing second in the Big Ten after averaging 45.1 yards per punt.
The Big Ten also announced that running back Roman Hemby was selected as Maryland’s Sportsmanship Award Honoree.
