The 2024 NFL regular season is wrapped up with 21 Terps in the league and five suiting up with the playoffs set to begin next weekend. We take a look around the NFL to see how they fared:
After the Cardinals lost kicker Matt Prater to a knee injury early in the year Chad Ryland was signed and made an impact right away. In three of his first four games in Cardinal Red, he connected on a game-winning field goal. In 13 games this year, Ryland made 28 of 32 field attempts and 26 of 27 extra points. After struggling as a rookie with New England in 2023 he may have saved his career with Arizona – and found happiness.
“They were all so fun. Every game here was so fun,” Ryland said of the 2024 season. “This was the first year since college that I enjoyed every single game, every single practice, every single meeting, workout. It really made me sort of fall in love with the game again. ... I couldn't speak higher about the people here.”
Quinton Jefferson started the season with the Cleveland Browns but finished with Buffalo after being released in November. Between the two teams Jefferson finished 2024 with 14 tackles, three tackles for loss, and four quarterback hits.
Edge rusher Yannick Ngakoue spent the first part of the season unsigned before being picked up by Baltimore and later New England. He had 14 tackles with 1.5 sacks and 1.5 tackles for loss on the season.
Browns offensive lineman Michael Dunn missed the first four games of the season but played the remaining 13 with three starts lining up at right guard and center.
Texans receiver Stefon Diggs had his season cut short due to a torn ACL. In the eight games he played Diggs had 47 catches for 496 yards and three touchdowns. He also reached 10,000 career receiving yards and 70 receiving touchdowns in 2024. With Diggs a free agent this offseason his future in the NFL is a little up in the air.
Colts safety Nick Cross had a breakout third season, finishing second on the team and ninth in the NFL in tackles with 146. He was tied for first on the Colts with three interceptions, adding a sack, six tackles for loss, five passes defended, and a forced fumble.
Jaguars safety Darnell Savage started all 13 games he played this year, finishing with 50 tackles, two tackles for loss, six passes defended, and an interception.
Titans tight end Chig Okonkwo started 11 of 17 games played in and caught at least one pass in all but the finale. His season highlight was a 70-yard touchdown that was the difference in a 32-27 win over Houston. On the year Okonkwo was second on the team in catches, 52, and third in yards, 479, along with two touchdowns.
Due to a hamstring injury, Titans tackle Jaelyn Duncan only played in five games, starting three at right tackle.
DJ Turner was a man of many talents in 12 games for the Raiders this year. On offense, he caught 16 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown and carried the ball five times for 33 yards and a touchdown. Special teams saw Turner return seven punts for 77 yards and four kickoffs for 106 yards. Turner also had seven tackles on special teams. He finished the season on IR.
Jakorian Bennett was another Raider on IR at the end of the year. In ten games, the second-year corner had 26 tackles and eight passes defended.
After spending the first three games as a backup, Raiders tackle DJ Glaze was put in the starting lineup and never looked back. Playing every game at right tackle, the rookie was graded 52nd out of 141 tackles on PFF with a grade of 66.1 and 48th in run blocking. After a rough season for Las Vegas, Glaze looks to be a piece that they can build off of.
It was a struggle for Deonte Banks and the Giants this year. The second-year corner missed three games due to a rib injury and was benched during the second half of a game. He finished with 52 tackles, a tackles for loss and 12 passes defended.
DJ Moore was 34 receiving yards short of 1000 at season’s end but did reach a new career-high in catches with 98 for the Bears. He scored six touchdowns and carried the ball 14 times for 75 yards. The Bears will have a new head coach in 2025 and they’re hoping that quarterback Caleb Williams will take the next step.
Moore’s teammate, defensive lineman Byron Cowart had 26 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and five tackles for loss in 14 games played this year.
49ers defensive tackle Sam Okuayinonu made three starts in 16 games, finishing with 35 tackles, three sacks, six tackles for loss, one pass defended, and one forced fumble.
