Chargers corner Tarheeb Still had a career day against the Falcons picking off two passes of four passes by the team and defending three others. Both interceptions were inside Charger territory.
Still’s first interception came on the first play of the second quarter on a deep pass intended for Drake London. His second was a 61-yard pick-six that put the Chargers in front 17-10. The pair of takeaways helped set a record for Kirk Cousins, marking his first career game throwing four interceptions and no touchdowns. For Tarheeb Still, it helped him pick up his first career accolade after being named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week, also becoming the first Charger on either side of the ball to draw the award this season.
“You dream about making plays on this stage, on this level,” Still said. “Coming up watching guys do it and now it’s my turn to do it, it just feels great.”
Still added three pass breakups vs. Atlanta and enters week 14 tied with a team-high nine in 2024.
“The thing that impresses me the most is how locked in he is for a young player,” head coach Jim Harbaugh said after the game. “I mean, they can get a little drift in their preparation as the season goes on. But he has been locked in.”
Following the game, Still announced on Instagram that he was given notice for a drug test.
PFF named Still the fourth-best rookie after week 13. "Still vaults up the list this week thanks to a monster game as the Chargers took down the Atlanta Falcons on the road on Sunday. He has earned an 83.7 PFF coverage grade and has recorded three interceptions and four pass breakups," PFF added.
