Three things we learned from Maryland football's spring game

Saturday's traditional spring game was always scheduled to line up with Maryland Day despite the changing landscape throughout college athletics, but it also provided a vanilla glimpse into the new faces whether through high school or portal as fans begin to get comfortable with the 2025 Maryland football team.


"I think you just saw consistently us try to call things that allow our players to just run, block, catch, tackle, throw and kick. Like it wasn't about scheme. It wasn't about trying to out maneuver or trick people. I just wanted to see guys go play the game in its purest form in the spring kind of concept," head coach Mike Locksley said after. "It wasn't a game, wasn't a scrimmage. I was pleased with it.”


What Saturday did offer was the first extended look at the first look at the initial makings of the 2025 team. Three things we learned:
