TV, kickoff details announced for Maryland football's homecoming game vs. USC

Details for week eight of the 2024 college football season were announced by the Big Ten on Monday as Maryland is set to host USC for a 4 PM kickoff on FS1.

The upcoming matchup will serve as Maryland’s homecoming game this season, while it will mark the first-ever matchup between the two cross-country conference foes.

USC (3-2, 1-2) is coming off its second road loss during its inaugural Big Ten slate after Minnesota mounted a fourth-quarter comeback to secure a 24-17 win. Maryland, meanwhile, is coming off its bye week and will look for its first Big Ten win of the season when they host Northwestern this upcoming Saturday, Oct. 11.

“So [I’m] clearly frustrated that we've got the ingredients. I gotta find a way to get it come together in one game,” head coach Mike Locksley said after the week five loss vs. Indiana. “And I also say, let's remember – it's just one game. I know for us and as a program, sometimes we want to look at the big picture. It's just one game. And we had some individual players do some good things in this game. Some of these young guys had to, I thought that the complementary players would have to show up in this game. I didn't realize it’d be due to injury, but we did have some individual players do some good things, but just not enough of them.”
