On the roster side, OL transfer Rahtrel Perry continues to draw the tag as the “Jordan Phillips of the offense” in terms of his expected on-field impact, while freshman OT Jaylen Gilchrist has drawn buzz as the most impressive of the early enrollees so far. I mentioned weeks ago a scenario where Gilchrist lines up at RT with Alan Herron lining up at RG. While spring ball will give OL coach Damian Wroblewski a chance to iron out his starting five, the former top-100 signee has a real chance to crack the starting five. He’ll get his first crack at doing so when spring ball officially begins on March 25, but the early buzz is that he’s living up to the hype out of high school.
